Lamy fountain pens are great buys. For its price, the pen exceeds many people's expectations. The pen can be refilled by both cartridges and converter although the converter is not supplied, you may need to spend extra for the bottled ink.

It comes with an ABS plastic casing instead of the lacquer finish most fountain pens have. The design is quite minimalistic. The cap for one has a clip that is functional but it does not look good when placed on a shirt pocket.

The nib does not have any of those fancy engravings. Instead it is made of a black metal that looks very Spartan but is quite cool, nonetheless. To put it bluntly, the pen does look a little cheap. Good thing that it, really, is cheap.

But do not be fooled by mere appearance. The plastic finish of Lamy fountain pens might look a little weak but it actually writes pretty well for a fountain pen this affordable. It has a strong and firm grip for a plastic pen.

The screw thread was precise to avoid spills. Although it has a firm nib, the pen is actually lighter than the usual fountain pens. Nonetheless, it does allow smooth and consistent writing.

The best thing about Lamy fountain pens can be gleaned on the output. The ink flows instantly without exerting any pressure on the nib. It also produces flexible lines you can use for both scribbling and sketching. Put more pressure on the paper and it will produce thicker lines.

Today, the Lamy fountain pen, which comes in an assortment of styles and attractive prices, as may be seen in certain online sites, draws continued interest and support from pen connoisseurs or collectors, or who simply enjoy an artful writing experience.
