MacKinnon Fountain Pens
David Mackinnon first made his talent known as a precision engineer and a skilled craftsman. He has a very diverse background and has experience in research and the development of systems used in telecommunication, aerospace and medicine. He even made a mark in Formula One racing as a researcher.
But Mackinnon has really made a great impact when he settled himself as a goldsmith that is known for making beautiful enameled pens for American pen manufacturers. He established a pen company he called The Mackinnon Pen Company located in Brooklyn, New York.
He patented the first stylographic pen, a Mackinnon Stylo, which is known to be a gift to Mark Twain who called it “the best Mackinnon fountain pen yet invented”. It is even rumored that this was the pen he used when writing Huckleberry Finn.

The Mackinnon fountain pens combine the three sectors of Nature, Technology and Craftsmanship. Within all Mackinnon pen is an organic based six-sided wax cell that comes from worker bees. The overall design of the pen is based on the old school feel and look of the first Mackinnon pens.
It is also manufactured with the same hand made craftsmanship that is improved by modern engineering and computers which aided in the design process. It is a pen that gets only the highest quality components.
All the parts, except the nib and the converter are manufactured in the traditional way by Mackinnon Company facilities based in England. These pens are truly the work done by someone who expects nothing but perfection and quality.
